7Up Now All Natural

Soft-drink brand 7Up this week announced that its original 7Up is now “100% natural” — following a reformulation to eliminate an artificial preservative.

Dang, not too shabby. Too bad I don’t like 7Up.

EDIT 5/18/06: See Josh’s review here.

  • So weird, I almost posted this. I was all fired up about it until I learned that High Fructose Corn Syrup is one of the five all-natural ingredients.

  • !!! I thought to myself “I wonder if they are considering HFCS as natural.” But then I thought, how could they, when it has to be created in a test tube. Once again, I assume too much.

  • I really hope this helps out 7up in the marketplace. I’m a fan and I consider Sprite to be just a too-sweet imitation.

  • I think it was in Fast Food Nation where I learned the real difference between “natural” and “artificial” flavors.

Basically, artificial flavors are made entirely in a test tube, from molecules bought at the store or something.

Natural flavors are made in exactly the same way, only with molecules from a potato.

  • I was excited also because I thought it would be made with sugar which not only taste better(I have had both coke and 7up with sugar overseas)but is more filling. You can only drink about 8 oz. and you are totally full. I hope they change. I would drink it then.

  • YEAH!!! ITS HEALTHY!
